Tim McGraw has been locked in a dispute

Tim McGraw's long-awaited new album faces another delay - it is to be released a week later than scheduled.

Emotional Traffic, the singer's final album for Curb Records, has been locked away for almost 18 months during a legal spat between McGraw and label bosses over his contract.

McGraw was restricted from recording or releasing new music during the battle, but a judge in Tennessee lifted the ban last month and ruled the executives had to release the album in the New Year.

Emotional Traffic was then set for a 16 January debut, but now McGraw fans will have to wait an extra week to get hold of a copy following a new delay.

The album features a duet with R&B star Ne-Yo and tracks McGraw wrote with Martina McBride and Brett and Brad Warren, according to CountryWeekly.com.

McGraw isn't quite free of his legal wrangles with Curb Records bosses - they are suing him for breach of contract and that case is scheduled to go to trial in July.
