Tom Petty to headline first night of Isle of Wight

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers will headline the opening night of the Isle of Wight Festival next year.
 
The rockers will help bookend the weekend event in June with major U.S. acts - Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will headline the final night of the festival.
 
Petty's June 22 show is his first announced concert of 2012. It will be his band's first major European show in 20 years.
 
Saturday night's headliner has yet to be announced.
