Westlife sparked a fire scare at a TV studio on Sunday afternoon after their onstage pyrotechnics started fuming, causing the venue to be evacuated.
The Irish band was rehearsing for a performance on Britain's The X Factor at Wembley's Fountain Studios ahead of their Sunday night live set, but the TV studio was plunged into chaos as fumes began billowing out of the band's equipment, triggering fire alarms in the building.
A source said; "Pyrotechnics from Westlife's set caused the studio to be evacuated. The fumes caused everyone to choke, and the fire alarm was going off." Following the scare the four-piece performed on the programme alongside British bands Take That and JLS.
