Charlotte Church

Charlotte Church has had a bit of a rough time recently, but surely that’s no reason to go sticking her in the national curriculum? That is a bit over the top.

But partents, before you start ringing up your kids school and having a meltdown at the head teacher, don’t panic, the singer is not going to be teaching kids how to get drunk and have kids out of wedlock, oh no, they’re going to be studying how she talks.

The language used by the boozy star has been selected by top education chiefs as a topic for the GCSE English syllabus as they hope that studying the words Charlotte, 24, says and the way she puts them across will get pupils more interested in the subject.

The modern language spoken element of the exam featuring Charlotte is being introduced by Welsh examining board OCR Cymru and she will be one of 50 Welsh celebrities that schoolchildren will be studying from September. Others include Gavin and Stacey stars Ruth Jones and Rob Brydon.
