Adam Lambert's fans may just be some of the nicest on the planet, with some of his biggest British supporters putting together new charity project Touch of Sparkle, which provides care packages to patients undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer and other cancers.

Run in aid of the Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust in Cambridge, UK, the charity hopes to bring cheer and assistance to those who truly need it.

In their own words: "The idea is to spread a little care and humanity and try to lighten the load during this difficult stage of the patients' journey. The packages include practical items (e.g. bed socks, tissues, takeaway vouchers, sweets, herbal tea for anti-sickness) as well as distractions (e.g. puzzle books, pens, earphones, playing cards) and pamper items (e.g. nail varnish, lipbalm, eyebrow powder for hair loss). There are very few care package projects for cancer patients running in the UK and this is the first of its kind at Addenbrookes. The project is also unusual in being run by a music fanbase (largely women for female cancer patients) - imagine how much good could be done if all fanbases were to run their own projects?"

Items included in the care packages are purchased by fans across the world who donate on a gofundmepage and Amazon wishlist, in addition to donations from local businesses - all of which are packaged and delivered to Addenbrooke's Hospital.

To-date there have been 75 care packages donated with 50 more being prepared, this time all containing amongst the usual items a copy of Adam Lambert's third studio album 'The Original High'.

"Our aim is simply to try to spread a little sparkle to people undergoing cancer treatment and lighten their loads with our care package items." says Melanie Hersey of the project.
