The 26-year-old Swedish DJ - real name real name is Tim Bergling - played his final show on Sunday (28.08.16) at Ushuaia in Ibiza and although he's walking away from gigs he insists it doesn't mark his "last days in the world of music".

The 'I Could Be the One' hitmaker - who has worked with the likes of Adam Lambert, Nile Rodgers and Aloe Blacc - took to his Instagram account to mark the occasion and assure his followers that it wasn't the last they'd hear from him.

He wrote: "This Sunday was my last show. But far from my last days in the world of music. Creating music is what makes me happy and I have gotten to know so many great people in my days of touring, seen so many amazing places and created endless of good memories.

"The decision I made might seem odd to some but everyone is different and for me this was the right one. Thank you to all my fans, my friends and family and everyone in the aviciicrew/family. This has been our journey together (sic)"

Back in March, Avicii wrote an open letter to fans stating that he was giving up life on the road after fulfilling his 2016 commitments in a bid to reclaim his life.

The lengthy post on his official website avicii.com read: "My path has been filled with success but it hasn't come without its bumps. I've become an adult while growing as an artist, I've come to know myself better and realise that there's so much I want to do with my life. I have strong interests in different areas but there's so little time to explore them ... I've decided this 2016 run will be my last tour and last shows. Let's make them go out with a bang! (sic)"
