Black Sabbath will be honoured with the Ambassadors of Rock prize at the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clefs Awards next month.

The rock band has been added to a list of winners who will attend the ceremony - organised by the charity that provides musical therapy for thousands of people across the UK - at the London Hilton on Park Lane on July 4, after being recognised for their contribution to the music industry.

Speaking about winning the AEG Live Ambassadors of Rock Award, Ozzy Osbourne, 65, said: "Winning the Ambassadors of Rock award from Nordoff Robbins is a huge honour. Music is our life, and we couldn't live without it. The world can't survive without music and this is a very special charity that brings music to everyone.

"There are a lot of talented people already being honoured at the awards and we are looking forward to celebrating with them at the O2 Silver Clefs this summer."

Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, 70, will also walk away with a trophy under his belt after he's presented with this year's prestigious Silver Clef Award.

He said of his win: "A big thank you to Nordoff Robbins and everyone involved in awarding me the Silver Clef Award."

Meanwhile, Sir Tom Jones, Pharrell Williams, Paloma Faith and Laura Mvula will also receive awards at the event.
