With just a week to go until the release of Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea's collaboration on 'Pretty Girls', the pair have opened up about working with one another and the song that they've recorded.

Describing the Little-Mix written tune as a "classic, girly song", Azalea thinks fans will want to play the track as they're getting ready to go out and party.

Speaking to USA Today she continued: "You definitely need a partner to sing [it with]. It's just a lot of fun. It's a classic, girly [song] you want to scream to each other when you're getting ready."

Spears went on to add about how the collaboration happened: "I had called my manager (Larry Rudolph) and had some ideas about doing a Valley girl-type video.

"It was really kind of funny, because I had just watched Clueless on TV, and was like, 'It would be so fun to do something like that'. Then I saw Iggy's video [for 'Fancy'], and I thought, 'Oh my God, to work with her would be heaven-sent'."

The two met for the first time in January when Spears was invited over to the rapper's house.

She said of the meeting: "We just talked about a bunch of girl stuff. She's a very down-to-earth girl and very, very sweet. She introduced me to her dog, we had wonderful salad and it was just fun girl time".

More recently the pair were spotted filming the 80s-inspired music video for their collaboration in Los Angeles.

It was also confirmed that the two would join forces to perform the song at the Billboard Music Awards on May 17 - Spears' first major awards show performance in eight years.
