Ed Sheeran has now started working on his third album.
The musician became the UK's biggest selling artist in 2014 with the release of second LP 'x', and has already written new tracks for his currently untitled third release, because it'd now be "weird" if he quit the industry.
Ed joked on BBC's The One Show: "If I didn't release a third album it would be a bit weird."
However, after performing an intimate show in central London on Thursday, January 22 as part of BBC Radio 2's In Concert series, he admitted the process of making his next record has already been lengthy, because an eight month period last year saw him write only three tunes whilst touring the world.
"I started working on the third album as soon as I handed in the second album, but I just didn't write any songs. I'd written, like, three for it, I just didn't write any songs for like, eight months."
Despite a slow start, Ed had good progress during his winter break as the music "poured out" of him.
"I had a month off for Christmas which was wicked, and the songs just poured out which was good."
