Ellie Goulding has said she's become a "professional" at not winning awards.

The 27-year-old singer is hoping to secure the Best Female, Best Single and Best Video prize at the Brit Awards tonight, but she admits she won't be surprised if she doesn't win.

She said: "I'm definitely a professional at dealing with not winning.

"I've been to a lot of awards now where I haven't won. Who knows if I'll win at the Brits. Fingers crossed, but if I don't I won't be surprised. I have learnt not to get my hopes up."

The 'Burn' hitmaker has added pressure tonight as she's been booked to perform at the event, held at the O2 Arena in London, but she insists she's going to "embrace" the opportunity.

She explained: "I've wanted so badly to perform at the Brits so I'm just gonna embrace it and enjoy it.

"It's going to be nerve-racking but I'm just going to give it my everything.

"It's been fun to plan the performance and it's been fun to go a bit further and push it a little bit.

"I've been on the O2 Arena stage before and I've got used to playing big shows because I've supported Bruno Mars and Katy Perry."

Although, if the blonde beauty does get struck with nerves, she'll have the 'Dark Horse' hitmaker and her friend Taylor Swift close by.

She told The Sun newspaper: "Taylor Swift will be there and Katy Perry's performing. Her crew and mine get on, so that will be nice backstage."
