The DJ-and-producer - real name Norman Cook - and his wife Zoe Ball lived nearby the 'Hello' singer in Brighton and got on well with her and her partner Simon Konecki.

Norman and Zoe joined Adele for coffee at her home and he has nothing but nice things to say about the singing superstar and he is sad that she has now moved out of the English seaside city.

In a web Q&A with The Guardian website, he said: "She was a perfect and gracious neighbour, though sadly has recently sold up down here."

The 'Right Here, Right Now' hitmaker is still busy performing gigs around the world and is one of the most in-demand DJs in the world.

However, at 53, Norman can see a time in the future when he will stop spinning records but he plans to carry on performing and making music for as long as it is feasible to do so.

He was asked if he thinks "there is an age when DJs are just too old to do it? What age would that be?"

To which he answered: "I think there is, and I aim to find out exactly what it is. I will tell you as soon as I hit it, I hope..."

Adele sold her townhouse in Brighton in August and now plans to spend more time with her family, Simon and their three-year-old son Angelo, in Los Angeles where she owns a 6,500-square-foot home in the gated and guarded community of Hidden Valley in Beverly Hills.

A source previously said: "Adele spent a lot of time in Brighton with Simon and their son but she's moving on.

"She has fallen in love with LA and will be spending a lot more of her time out in the States. She still has a number of properties in London so she will always have a home in England."
