Jake Bugg has said his tracks "write themselves".

The 'What Doesn't Kill You' singer doesn't like to think too much about how his tracks are going to sound before he writes them, so they naturally form while he plays.

Speaking at the Barclay Card Mercury Prize in London last night (30.10.13), he told BANG Showbiz: "I believe songs write themselves, sometimes when I'm writing a song you just sing words, and its subconscious.

"Like when I wrote this song 'Broken', the word 'broken' kept coming out, it's you brain or your heart trying to tell you something."

Jake, 19, releases his second album, 'Shangri La', next month, and says Noel Gallagher advised him on how to keep his cool and not worry about the pressure.

He added: "The first album was a load of songs I'd accumulated over the course of a few years, this second album is all new songs and things that are relevant to my life, things that have happened in the last year. It was a completely different experience.

"I wanted to get this second album out relatively quickly. I didn't want to rush it, but I was a bit worried about it and Noel said, 'Don't think about it.' His second record [with Oasis] was just a load of songs that he'd written, songs he just had. So that's kind of what I did, just wrote songs - though of it like the ones I did for the first record."
