In 1987, Kim and late comedian Mel Smith brought out a cover of Brenda Lee's 'Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree' to raise money for Comic Relief, reaching number three in the UK Singles Chart and making her a permanent fixture of festive playlists.

But on Friday (01.12.17), 57-year-old Kim is unveiling the less than merry 'F U Kristmas' with the rockers in time for the holidays, following their appearance together at Donnington's Download Festival in June 2016.

Kim described the performance as "a personal highlight" of her career, and has suggested a collaboration with Lawnmower Deth was always going to happen, and it so happened the group wanted to make an alternative Christmas tune.

She said: "Lawnmower Deth came up with the idea of us collaborating on a Christmas tune and I said yes immediately, feeling our worlds had become inextricably linked."

In 1991, the band covered Kim's huge hit 'Kids In America', sparking a genuine friendship and connection between the acts.

Lawnmother Deth frontman Pete Lee has described the upcoming anti-Christmas single as "the greatest project" the group have ever been involved in.

He said: "It wasn't a polar leap to ask Kim to join us at Download Festival in 2016. Now, working on a Christmas single together, some would say it's the most bizarre juxtaposition since KLF and Extreme Noise Terror at the BRITS, I prefer a bunch of lovable chancers married with pure pop royalty."

Discussing the writing process, Kim explained: "We have an utterly preposterous Christmas single."
