Speaking to James Franco for V Magazine, Lady Gaga has said that her new album will be utterly different to her last, 'ARTPOP', as working on American Horror Story allowed her a vessel to place all her pain and misery.

She explained: "When I wasn't working on the show I was truly miserable because I had no safe house to get out any of my vices.

"Now I have a safe house for my vices so when I'm making music I just have a lot more clarity. I have a little less of an instinct to be reckless with my music now because I'm reckless in other places. So now I'm thinking more about what it is I want to say and what I want to leave on Earth."

Gaga continues: "It's less an expression of all my pain. There will be some of my pain on the record for sure, but it will be more than that.

"My last album was riddled with a ton of pain. That whole record. It's almost like you couldn't even get to what it is. Now, the show gives me an outlet to put things somewhere, so when I get to the piano I'm in a deeper place already. I have something completely other to explore."

Meanwhile, Dazed Digital is reporting that this week a lawsuit was filed against Lady Gaga from French video artist Orlan AKA Mireille Porte. She claims that the lumps on Gaga's face in the 'Born This Way' music video were an idea taken from her, and because of this she wants $31.7 million of the profits from the 2011 album.

Originally filed in Paris in 2013, the lawsuit was only officially filed in America this week.

Representatives for Gaga have commented: "This is nothing but an attempt by the plaintiff to generate US press coverage around a meritless case that was filed in France several years ago."
