The musician took aim at the rapper during his performance of new track 'All Day' alongside British grime artists Skepta, Krept and Konan, Jammer and Novelist last night in London's O2 Arena.

In a rare message on Twitter during the ceremony, Liam wrote: "Kanye West. Utter S**t. LG x (sic)."

Though he was left unimpressed by the star's performance, he admitted that he was a fan of some of Kanye's earlier work including his 2004 debut album 'College Dropout'.

In a follow-up tweet sent directly to Kanye he wrote: "...And you're a million miles away from College Dropout. That's artistry. LG x (sic)."

He went on to suggest that his fans should check out the music of Lee Mavers.

Meanwhile, other stars were more positive about the controversial performance, with BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac praising it as "powerful and impactful".

She tweeted: "That Kanye performance is the most powerful and impactful thing I have ever seen at the BRITS. Would have liked a 16 from Skepta though."
