Lily Allen

Lily Allen wasn't allowed to use her married name for the relaunch of her career in the music industry.

The 28-year-old singer - who took a break from her career in 2009 - married Sam Cooper in 2011 and was adamant that when she returned to singing, she'd be using her new surname.

However, her record label convinced her to stick with her maiden name because they feared fans would get confused.

Speaking to NME magazine, she said: "Sadly, in this day and age, I still need their support. They're the bank manager and if they don't get their money out, then I'm not going to get anywhere.

"I understand that my name is quite big, but it's about picking your battles..."

Meanwhile, the brunette beauty - who came back onto the music scene last year with her hit 'Hard Out Here' - has been working on her third album, but said recently that she didn't really have a theme.

She said last week: "You know what, I'm still sort of piecing it all together to be honest. So I can't really give you any specifics, but I'm really really proud of it and I'm really pleased with it. I've worked so hard and it hasn't been easy with two little tiny babies running around."
