Miguel has played down comparisons between himself and artists including Frank Ocean and The Weeknd, saying that the question of who's better is answered by who's in the industry for the "long haul".

Chatting to The Sunday Times about Ocean, he said: "I wouldn't say we were friends. To be completely honest - and no disrespect to anyone - I genuinely believe that I make better music, all the way around.

"It's interesting, but we'll see who's in it for the long haul. It's like a marathon, you know?"

Miguel recently released third studio album 'Wildheart', where he's seen naked on the cover comforting another withdrawn, nude body.

There's also a high sexual energy running through his latest music video for track 'Coffee'.

'Wildheart' is the follow-up to second studio album 'Kaleidoscope Dream', which peaked at number three in America back in 2012.

Ocean's debut studio album 'Channel Orange' meanwhile debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 upon its release, selling 131,000 copies.

Miguel visits the UK later this year for three live shows in London, Birmingham and Manchester, while Ocean is gearing up for the release of his second major label record.
