Ed Sheeran requested his fans to be his "gospel choir" during a sell-out gig in London on Wednesday, October 15.

The singer orchestrated a huge sing-along during his performance of 'Give Me Love', getting the separate sides of the arena to sing different harmonies back at him.

Before playing the tune, Ed explained: "I'm going to need you to be my gospel choir tonight, You up for that? Whatever I tell you to sing, sing it, keep singing."

Opening his set with 'I'm A Mess' and launching into fan favourite 'Lego House', he prompted fans to sing every word along with him.

Swapping his trademark acoustic guitar for an electric one he joked the upgrade was because of his growing success.

"Look, I've got an electric guitar, I'm moving up in the world! I released a music video a week ago, you won't see me ballroom dancing tonight, but I encourage you to, even if you've never met the person next to you before."

Ed will now take his tour to the LG Arena in Birmingham on Sunday, October 19, and begins his European leg on November 3 after travelling around the UK.

Ed Sheeran's setlist is as follows:
