The 'I Wanna Be Adored' hitmaker are set to perform at First Direct Arena on Wednesday June 20 and Thursday June 21, 2017.

Rumours of a gig in the city were fuelled when fans spotted the band's iconic lemon logo on the side of the Roxy Lanes building in the north England city.

It comes after the group used the same method to announce a set of shows at Manchester's Etihad Stadium

At the time, a shop keeper - where one of the posters was displayed - said he was "sworn to secrecy about an announcement due in the next 24 hours" whilst a firm was also registered with all four members of the band listed on, something which is expected to be used for these new ventures.

Back in May 2015, the group - which includes singer Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Gary 'Mani' Mounfield and drummer Alan 'Reni' Wren - unveiled their first single in 21 years titled 'All For One'.

Sharing the artwork on social media, they wrote at the time: "NEW SINGLE. ALL FOR ONE. AVAILABLE HERE NOW."

The band reunited in 2012 with two huge shows at Heaton Park in Manchester, which was attended by 150,000 people. They had been promising new material ever since they confirmed they were getting back together and were seen recording at producer Paul Epworth's studio in north London earlier in the year.

Asked about the album, Ian simply said it was going "glorious".

The shows at Leeds follow a successful set of performances in Manchester, Dublin, New York and Scotland.

Tickets for the Leeds dates will go on sale at 9.30am on Friday December 9.
