Usher has decided to join up with a brand of cereal to give away copies of his new song.

Customers who purchase Honey Nut Cheerios in Walmart stores in North America are to find a download code for the song 'Clueless' at the bottom of the box.

The singer made an agreement with the retailer to use the unique way of distribution ahead of the release of his new album 'UR', with the promotion beginning on Tuesday, November 18.

Usher recently made an appearance in a Cheerios advertisement, dancing with the mascot Buzz The Bee to his own song 'She Came To Give It To You'.

The Voice coach is taking his time with his new collection of songs, pushing the record back and refusing to be rushed by anybody.

Among the tunes on the tracklist is a Drake collaboration, which Usher recently claimed is one of his favourites.

"Drake's extremely talented, man.

"He's nice. Money really knows what he's doing. He really understands how to analyse a beat and then recognise a cadence. Because hip hop is that way; it's not just words and a rhythm.

"You gotta understand the cadence of what the song is saying, so that when you're on it, you know how to get it."

Nicki Minaj also features on the LP.
