Robin Thicke wants Barack Obama in his music video.

The 'Blurred Lines' hitmaker - who has sold nearly one million copies of the catchy track in the UK alone - believes the only way he can beat his current success is by recruiting the US president to feature in his next video.

Speaking to MTV news, he said: "We're going to have to see if President Obama will be in it.

"I don't know how you can top 'Blurred Lines'. Either that, or maybe we just won't make a video at all. Just disappear on top.

"It's like winning the championship in your last season. Why play again?"

The 35-year-old singer previously explained why he decided to make an upbeat album and admitted he penned the cheerful tracks after becoming bored with his "depressing bulls**t" music.

Robin - who married his long time girlfriend Paula Patton in 2005 - said: "It's a summer party album all the way and the most fun and happiest one I've ever made.

"I always wanted to be respected as an artist. As I got older, I didn't want to hear my own depressing bulls**t any more, I just wanted to hear some fun music I could dance with my wife to."
