Sir Mick Jagger has studied four years of Glastonbury DVDs ahead of The Rolling Stones performance tonight (29.06.2013).
The 'Brown Sugar' rocker claims he has pored over main stage performances since 2008 to ensure his band will deliver a set to remember when they headline the iconic festival this evening.
He told the Radio Times magazine: "Festivals are great to be at but not always the easiest to play.
"You've got to really work at that bit, but I think it's going to be a lot of fun. We're really looking forward to it and I'm thinking about the set list for that day and how we're going to deal with it."
The 69-year-old singer said his most important tip is to ensure his band's first song rocks or the audience will fast lose interest.
He added: "You've got to make sure the first number really rocks ... it gets everyone confident. If it doesn't, you've got to put it behind you. So that first number's got to be something you're super-confident with.
"It's no good doing a slightly unknown number that the audience isn't gonna deal with."
The legendary singer added the band can rehearse for up to nine hours a day to get in shape for their shows.
He said: "We go in and do maybe eight or nine hours a day just getting ourselves in shape, arguing about what key certain songs should be in.
"It's great fun and apart from the shows the rehearsals are one of the best times because you can always stop and have a smoke."
Glastonbury has partnered with EE this year and the telecoms company have set up a 4G network on site to keep festivalgoers tweeting, blogging and updating their facebook pages, as well as providing two free recharge tents.
