Aruba Red

Aruba Red

Touching on trip hop, dubstep, minimal electronica, acoustic and reggae, Aruba Red has the ability to mesmerize audiences with her unique blend of rebel soul music.

Transforming nostalgia and heavy bass into her own signature sound, the young singer has been plucked to support one of the stand-out acts of 2011, chart-topping Maverick Sabre, on his 'Lonely are the Brave' tour this March, alongside Ms Dynamite.

With new material to be released over the course of March, Aruba's lyrical content and smooth vocals touch upon addiction, paranoia, constant questioning and loss.

Aruba describes her sound as 'something beyond love and heartbreak, deeper than romance or manipulation, rather; "love, pain and back again'.Aruba (Named so after a Caribbean pirate legend) grew up nomadically as a child.

She's lived in Germany (where she was born and lived until the age of 3), and in Scotland, Suffolk, Essex and even San Francisco. Aruba has lived in North London since she was 17.

Her father, also a musician, penned a song called 'traveling child' based on her constant traveling as a youngster with her family.

Over the past year, Aruba has been spending time honing her talents and collecting ammunition, supporting the likes of Fat Freddy's Drop and Natty as well as opening for Soul II Soul and collaborating with the award-winning Nitin Sawhney and Jamaican Superstar Jah Cure.

Aruba also recently featured on Riz MC's 'All of You', also featuring
Plan B. Her live electronic set-up is heightened by producer/ percussionist Camilo Tirado, who has produced the majority of Aruba Red's forthcoming material.

Celebrating her spot on one of the more anticipated musical tours of 2012, Aruba releases the first of three free download tracks, 'Never Die' on 27 February, in the run up to her first EP release in March. 'Never Die' was premiered on Choice FM with DJ Hotsteppa on Friday 24th February.
