M.O.P Return
After a nine year hiatus, Brooklyn duo M.O.P are back with a vengeance. Billy Danz and Lil Fame are gearing up to release three projects this year. The rappers from Brownsville. Brooklyn negotiated a release from G Unit Records in order to move ahead with their recording plans. The pair will release their new projects through E1 formerly Koch Records.
Their first release is expected in June and is titled The Foundation.
New Smells for Rihanna and Kanye
Obviously when you impress someone like Jay Z, the impression lasts. The iconic rapper has linked two of his friends and former artists, Kanye West and Rihanna through his Iconic Fragrances to Parlux Fragrances in order for the two to develop and launch their own line of fragrances. The deal is another step towards the world of fashion and design which Kanye is so set on making.
His line of sneakers hit shelves this week selling out in various outlets. The rapper/producer hopes that Nike who he designed the line for will eventually offer him a deal to design his own sportswear line. On the deal struck for his friends however Jay Z had this to say "We are excited for the opportunity to partner with Parlux and their management team in the launch of these dynamic new brands. This venture will take what is already a successful franchise at Parlux to a new level."
Eminem Video Shocks and Amuses
It wouldn’t be an Eminem video without some controversy and this week saw the Detroit rapper release his first video from his up and coming release Relapse coming May 19th. Eminem who mimics celebs such as Jessica Simpson, Ellen DeGeneres, Amy Winehouse, John Mayer, Lindsay Lohan and many more has upset a couple of people, namely Jessica Simpson who was offended by the incessant hamburger eating her double partakes in and TV personality Bill O Reilly who has constantly attacked the Hip-Hop community and its stars for their content and messages.
But the video which has already surpassed a million views on video hosting sites in less that a week pleased celeb Kim Kardashian who is also included in the Joseph Khan directed video due to the size of her posterior. The socialite had this to say "I am a huge Eminem fan and find it flattering that he would rap about me," she wrote on her blog. "He’s a bit harsh about some other celebrities, but you just have to let it go and have a sense of humor. Personally, I’m honored."
50 Gets Another Shot
Curtis Jackson AKA 50 Cent has been brought on board to star in the new Joel Schumacher movie Twelve alongside Keifer Sutherland and Ellen Barkin according to Variety. The rapper who was replaced last week by Terry Crews in the Sly Stallone produced and directed Expendables movie was set to replace Forrest Whitaker but after fans voiced their disapproval at the Queens rapper it appeared Stallone changed his mind.
Twelve is expected to commence filming in New York in late April and is about a rich High School Drop out turned drug dealer who is out for revenge on the person who murdered his brother, who just happens to be his best friend. 50 Cent is no stranger to the big screen having starred in his semi-autobiographical Get Rich or Die Trying and alongside Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in Righteous Kill.
