3Oh!3

3Oh!3

3Oh!3 are fast becoming one of my favourite bands, and their set at Manchester Academy One on Saturday night was nothing short of wonderful.. Especially since they roped their celeb best mate Sean Smith in for a special DJ set beforehand.

First of all, I’d dragged my new housemate along with me for the ride, who -for the record - is into r n b music and is known not to like any of the music I like, so how I tricked her into getting into the car was beyond me.

But thank goodness for Sean Smith’s set… once he got underway and started whacking out tunes that she knew (as well as the bartender being generous with the Vodka Tonics) we were away, dancing like there was no tomorrow.

I had warned her that she’s probably only know one song from the 3Oh!3 set, so I was pretty thankful that a 3Oh!3 virgin was able to party on down like the best of them, because their set was out of this world.

Granted I did bump into THREE girls who were busy throwing up BEFORE the guys had even made it onto the stage (damn that 2 litre bottle of White Lightening they drunk on their way to the show) but one I pushed the kids out of the way and elbowed my way to the front we were good to go.

The guys never once wavered during their set - throwing limitless amounts of energy into each song and bouncing about the stage as though they had some Tigger boots on - I’ve never even heard of the guys until I saw the video for ‘Don’t Trust Me’ on MTV and thought they were brilliant, but last weekend saw me buy not only one tee, but one for my housemate too… result!

The only thing I can say about these guys is, if you haven’t seen them already, you HAVE to check them out next time they’re over here - this was the second time they have played Manchester Academy One (the first was as support for Katy Perry) and I guarantee you, the next time they are there it will be a sell-out.
