Hailing from the good ole US of A singer Devin brings his punkish sounding debut album to the UK this week as Romancing gets released.

The album comes hot off the heels of the single Masochist and there is a real rawness to his vocals throughout this very catchy album.

And Masochist is the opening tune on the album and there are some pop/punk guitar riffs on this track - and this really doe pave the way for the sound of the rest of the album.

Devin has mixed pop with punk as well as some good old rock and roll with some blues elements thrown in for good measure.

There is a real old style feel to the sound of the album and you can tell that Devin is into his vintage style rock and roll and bands that have come before him.

There is a real roaring sound to his great vocals as emotion and pain just drip through them as he sings about love and lost on the likes of Born To Cry and I Don't Think I.

But there is a real tenderness to his vocal performance in My Solitude, a track that really brings down the pace a bit - this is perhaps the closest he will ever get to a ballad.

It's a beautiful track and the power of his voice really has the chance to shine as the emotion just flows out.

The vintage feel to this record really does work in Devin's favour because there really is not other rock album like this out at the moment, and yes the old fashioned nature of the sound of the record really is quite charming.

Devin is an artist who know who he is and what his sound is and by blending a whole host of genres he has come up with something quite unique.

Mix that with a top notch vocal, thundering guitars and drums and this album really is one that should be cranked up incredibly loud!!
