Kelly Clarkson - Greatest Hits - Chapter One

Artist: Kelly Clarkson

Album: Greatest Hits - Chapter One

Label: RCA Records

OUT NOW

Rating: 3/5

It was ten years ago when Kelly Clarkson burst onto the scene and since then she has released five albums and sold 20 million records worldwide.

This week sees her return to celebrate her decade in business with Greatest Hits - Chapter One and it a record that is packed full of Clarkson classics.

The record opens with Since U Been Gone, which really is a great pop track and allows Clarkson so show off the real power in her voice.

The album moves between upbeat numbers and ballads as Miss Independent, Because of You and Breakaway are some of the highlights.

Don’t You Wanna Stay is also a fantastic and rather under-rated track as Clarkson teamed up with Jason Aldean.

Their voices go so perfectly together and this is a track that saw Clarkson successful tackle the country genre and move away from her pop roots.

Catch My Breath is one of the new tracks on the record and it s great to see some new material sprinkled amongst the better know tracks.

Catch My Breath is a typical Clarkson track as the verses build into the chorus where the singer is really able to let rip.

It is a catchy track and vocally sees Clarkson on top form and a great addition to her catalogue of music.

The new tracks come in quick succession as People Like Us and Don’t Rush follow. The former is a little uninspiring but Don’t Rush is another great duet.

The track sees her team up with Vince Gill and once again sees Clarkson tackle a more country sound.

With five albums already under her belt Clarkson had plenty of tracks to choose from when putting this greatest hits record together.

And it is a great mix of hit tracks with lesser know songs and with twenty tracks it is a real treat for Clarkson fans.
