Kristina Black won over music lovers earlier this year with the release of single Dream Of Me and now she is back with her new album Dark Black.

If you haven’t had the chance to check out of Kristina Train’s music yet than Dark Black is a great place to start as it is a fantastic album from start to finish.

Dark Black is the title track and first song on the record and immediately you can hear that vintage sound in her music.

There is something classic about her voice and her vocal is always backed with passion and emotion - and the first track is a perfect example of that.

Dark Black is a tender love song where her voice is allowed to take centre stand and nothing showy has been done with the production.

She picks up the pace with Dream of Me - which is the best track on the record, not to mention the catchiest.

She blends with pop with a bit of jazz to create a really infectious song that really shows off the richness of her beautiful voice.

No One’s Gonna Love You is Train’s take on the Band of Horses track - and she really has made this track her own.

It is a mesmerising rendition that is just so simple - the strings on this are really beautiful and are a real complement to her delicate vocal.

Don’t Leave Me Here Alone is another of the album’s highlights as this is a fragile and very intimate track.

Again she has kept the production very simple and has allowed her vocal to deliver all of the emotion. It is one of the most moving tracks on the album and you really feel her pain with every word that she sings.

Kristina Train has put together a great collection of tracks on her second album as she shows that is one of the most unique sounding solo female artists around at the moment.

Train is a blend between Dusty Springfield and Norah Jones and she has a voice that really just draws you in.

Dark Black is an album about love and loss and Train pours her heart and soul into the tracks - this is an emotional ride from start to finish.

This is one of the best albums from a solo female artist this year and Train’s star looks set to rise even further with this record.
