Rating: 4/5

After the success of Eton Mess EP earlier this year Stillman are back with a new collection of four tracks in the form of On Bended Knee.

This is perhaps a heavier set of tracks from Stillman than their previous record but that doesn’t them from being four great tracks.

On Bended Knee is the opening track on the EP and there is a real swagger to this track that is instantly infectious.

While rock is at the heart of this track there is an element of Blues that really does work well and gives the song that extra kick.

This is one of the catchiest tracks on the EP and Chaz Craik’s vocals are just so easy to listen to.

Swollen Air is a track that has a driving riff and some great melodies and there really is a classic rock feel to this song.

The guitar solo on this song is simply fantastic while Craik shows off the higher and more delicate part of his vocal - which is equally great.

Small Deaths is a track that mixes some heavier moments with some lighter sounds and this is a contrast that really does work well.

Craik shows off the power of his voice on this track and the guitars really do support and drive this vocal forward.

The Debt rounds off the record and while it may start off as quiet a quiet track it really does erupt into a powerful rock track that is one of the strongest songs in this new collection.

On Bended Knee sees Stillman deliver a different sound to Eton Mess as they have heavier beats and riffs - but it is a change in sound that works really well.

With these two EP’s Stillman has shown their versatility and it s great to see them make this progression in such a short period of time.
