Velcro Hooks look set to cause a bit of a storm with their new record Gymnophoria as it is one of the most intriguing albums in this genre of the year.

The band bring together a mix of indie, rock and punk together on this album in what is an incredibly energetic record.

A Love Song For T.S. Eliot is the opening track on the EP and as soon as you hear the guitar burst into life you know that you are in for a treat.

Jenner Blank has a rather unique vocal style as he half sings half speaks the lyrics - which is something that works really well.

There is more of a punk feel to Wasabi Colonel and it is one of my fave tracks on the album as there is a wicked streak to this song.

The song is driven by the great melody as well as some fantastic hooks while Blank shows off his singing voice more in this track than the previous.

There is an indie rock vibe in Wildman from start to finish as the pulsating bass and the staccato feel to the song goes really well together.

Girlfren is one of the best tracks on the EP and is one of the quieter tracks - until the guitars kick in at the end of the song.

There is a lot of buzz around this band and it is not hard to see why as they have delivered an EP that is packed with exciting music.

And while they jump around from genre to genre all of these tracks fit so perfectly to make a seamless and great EP.
