Miley Cyrus - 'Bangerz'

Miley Cyrus has released her fourth studio album this week, ahead of being in the headlines for more than one or two controversial reasons.

Following smash singles 'We Can't Stop' and 'Wrecking Ball' would be a challenge for any artist, but Miley proves here that she isn't just a two-hit wonder.

She said we'd know why the title of the collection is 'Bangerz' when we heard it - and we totally get what she means.

Securing collaboration partners Britney Spears, Nelly and Future to name just three certainly add a bit of spice to the experimental hip-hop album.

It's like nothing we've seen from a previous Miley era, and while we loved 'Fly On The Wall' and '7 Things', this is definitely the direction we hope the young star continues to take.

'FU' featuring French Montana is an absolute gem, doing exactly what it says on the tin. There's no attempt at trying to go deep with this tune. It's quite simply a middle finger up to her critics.

She's unique. Her voice isn't one you hear every single day, and her country twang is still prominent at times.

All we could possibly long for is a couple more 'Wrecking Ball'-esque tunes. We love that hefty ballad. 'Maybe You're Right' comes close.

Miley Cyrus' 'Bangerz' is out now via RCA Records.
