(Above) Decade

Hailing from Bath, this Quintet has a very distinctive alternative rock sound. They are currently working on their debut album and after hearing the leading single Brain Freeze, I am excited to hear more from this band.

They have just come off tour supporting Emily’s Army and they have just signed to Spinefarm Records where they will produce their very first album. They have also played at both Reading and Leeds festival, so things are going extremely well for the boys.

Lyrically the song is quite personal, they sing about having low thoughts and how you should deal with them. With lyrics such as ‘Head down on my knees/Trying to find a way to cure this brain freeze/Tell me this ache is going away today/ Tell me something, tell me you’re the same/ I’m gonna be honest when you ask me/ If I’ve got better things to do/ But you see, my time’s well spent when my time’s spent with you.’

Brain freeze is an excellent track, roaring guitars, authentic vocals and infectious hooks it is a great first effort for the band.

After their performances at Reading and Leeds in a couple of weeks Decade have a month off before heading out on tour with Tonight Alive as they try to boost their fan base before taking 2014 by storm when their forthcoming debut album drops, which should be worth the wait if Brain freeze is anything to go by.
