Reclusive R&B star D’Angelo was arrested in New York on Saturday morning after mistaking a police officer for a prostitute.

The Grammy Award-winning singer, real name Michael Archer, approached the undercover cop and offered her cash for oral sex.

The star's arrest came during a break in recording his comeback album, his first since 2000's Voodoo.

Reports suggest police found $12,000 in cash during a post-arrest search of his Range Rover.
