With a Gold selling album, MOBO award and Brit nomination firmly under his belt after the release of debut album ‘Home Sweet Home’, Kano is back with new single ‘This Is The Girl’. Unashamedly pure pop, ‘This Is The Girl’ is disco-soul that harks back cheerfully to East 17’s streak of hits. And who better to appear on it than garage-pop maestro, Craig David? David was a natural collaborator for Kano, a singer who established himself firmly in the UK garage scene who then went onto sell 11 million solo albums in the mainstream market. This collaboration came about after a chance meeting while they were both working in the same recording studios. Both Craig and Kano but have always had their eye on the bigger prize in the music game and with this track they’ve proved there really is no competition. With his distinctive flow, underground credibility and the ability to allure ladies from all walks of life its no surprise that with this single Kano shows he’s unafraid of pop at its most blatant - he is after all a popstar already in the greatest sense of the word. New album ‘London Town’ is due for release on 679 on September 10 and also features collaborations with Damon Albarn, Kate Nash and Vybz Cartel.

Kano will be headlining at the ICA as part of the i-tunes series on July 24th
