Metallica Fan Death Ruled As Homicide

Metallica fan Morgan Harrington's death has been ruled a homicide by Virginia officials, a week after her remains were found in a wood on farmland just 10 miles (16 kilometres) from where she was last seen.

The 20-year-old student went missing during a Metallica show in Virginia last year and findings made by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond have helped officials rule out suggestions Harrington wandered away from the Charlottesville concert and died of exposure.

Forensic experts are working around the clock to determine the cause of death.
