Panic! At The Disco are encouraging fans not to panic after losing two group members… but can they really survive two men down?

Guitarist Ryan Ross and bass player Jon Walker have announced they're leaving the band to form their own group, but founding members Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith have promised fans they'll honour all upcoming commitments, including an 8 August date with No Doubt in San Diego, California.

A statement from Ross and Walker reads, "Though the four of us have made music together in the past, we've creatively evolved in different directions which has compromised what each of us want to personally achieve.

"Over the years, we have remained close and honest with each other, which helped us to realize that our goals were different and that parting ways is truly what is best for each of us. We are all excited for the future, you should be too."

News of problems within the Panic camp started circulating after the band scrapped a headlining slot at Pennsylvania's MusicFest at the end of July. They have been replaced by The Commodores, who reunited with former frontman Lionel Richie at the Essence Music Festival in Louisiana at the weekend.

Panic At The Disco also have dates planned with reunited punk trio Blink-182 in August.
