Daughtry’s eponymous debut album crashed into the UK charts at number 13 in August this year, and they’re following up this debut success with their next single, Home, released on the 7th Jan 2008. The band have been touring the world and have just finished playing in Singapore and Australia. The album has sold over 3 million copies in the US, making it the biggest selling album of 2007 to date. ‘Home’ is nominated for the MTV ‘Monster’ song of the year, and it reached number one in the Billboard Single charts (equalling its predecessor ‘It’s Not Over’).Vocalist Chris Daughtry came to prominence as one of the runners up in American Idol, and is only the second artist to have come out of the show to have had any international success. With huge interest building across Europe, Daughtry could well be the first reality show star to truly become a worldwide star.

Daughtry consist of Josh Paul (bass), Joey Barnes (drums), Brian Craddock (guitar), Josh Steely (guitar) and Chris Daughtry (vocals).

They recorded their triple platinum album with Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, All American Rejects) which went on to spend over 30 weeks in the Billboard Top Ten on release.

The band played their only UK show in June of this year, which sold out in a matter of hours with tickets changing hands for £400 on the day.

In November Daughtry won three American Music Awards, winning in their three nominated categories for Favourite Pop/Rock album, Breakthrough artist and Adult Contemporary Artist.

For the first time in show’s history, winners were chosen by public votes cast online.

Last week Daughtry received four Grammy nominations, for:

Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals - Home

Best Rock Song - It's Not Over * Songwriter Award
