Jet return to the UK this summer to play several festivals, as well as a London show as special guests to Aerosmith in Hyde Park. The band will also be releasing a single ‘Rip It Up’ taken from their second album ‘Shine On’. The band have just completed their biggest US tour to date, playing 38 shows in 7 weeks to over 100,000 people. They are now about to embark on a sold out homecoming tour of Australia where they will play to over 30,000 people in a two week blitzkrieg.“We are rock!” Says front man Nic Cester “playing live is what we do best and we can’t wait to get back to the UK. I’ve spent the last year touring the world with my best mates so I’ve got nothing to complain about, and for once neither does Chris. In LA, Steve Jones, Slash, and Chris Robinson all joined us onstage. We’ve got the best f***ing job in the world man!”‘Rip it Up’ is a classic JET rocker, chock full of riffs and a live favourite. The opening verse sees Cester spitting “Did you ever get the feeling you were born to lose, smacked in the face with a silver spoon. Skinny doll gimme your magazine queen, spread your legs for the silver screen. From the bedroom baby to the city a' light, you look pretty good but you’re not so bright” which may be inspired by a certain hotel empire heires about to spend some time banged up (but not in her usual fashion).

The single is a download only release with a live version of the Rose Tattoo classic ‘We Can’t Be Beaten’ on the b-side.

The track was recorded at the ARIA’s last year (The Australian version of the Grammy’s/Brits) where Rose Tattoo were inducted into the Hall of Fame, and complimented on their performance by lead singer Angry Anderson.

Both tracks will be available from the 25th June on Atlantic Records.

‘Shine On’ has sold almost 1 million copies worldwide since its release in October last year and was the follow up to ‘Get Born’ which is approaching the 4 million sales mark.
