Trash Monroe

UK alternative rocksters serve up their highly impressive new record ‘Addiction Of Duplicities’ this November!

Formed in Essex in 2003, Trash Monroe consist of Melany Dantes (vocals), Brad Hurr (Guitar), Ken Mortimer (Bass), Matt Rowe (12 String Guitar), and Dave Pankhurst (Drums). Although the band can sit comfortably under the umbrella of Alternative Rock, finding true comparisons to their brand of music proves evasive.

The strong vocals of lead singer Melany Dantes are both raw and captivating, echoing perhaps the aggressive and moody passion of such classic powerhouses as Pat Benatar, straight through to more modern bands such as HIM and Tool.

However Trash Monroe’s dexterity in meshing genres gives them a singular sound that shoots from the hip to the heart without definition or label and they certainly enjoy the creative freedom that comes from this amorphous state of being.

Trash Monroe have played shows all over the country, and with bands as diverse as The Birthday Massacre and Raggedy Angry (Canada), Kells, Black Candy Store and Undercover Slut (France), along with a critically well received support slot with Drug dealer cheerleader at The Underworld in late 2011, which only served to add to their growing reputation as a 'must see' live band.

They’ve lauded praise from Dominion Magazine (Terrorizer), Metal Hammer, Kerrang, Alternative Magazine, and Noisy Magazine, among others. Over the years the band have released one album, 'Shooting From the Lips and Other Crimes of Passion', as well as two EPs , 'Ornament' which was produced by John Fryer (Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, and Cradle of Filth) and 'Batesian Mimicry', which included a full location video for the track 'I-Doll'.

Keeping things fresh with the release of their new collection of material Addiction of Duplicities and wanting to artistically mix it up, the band has decided to release it in two parts, with the second slated for early 2013.

Recorded and mixed by Neil Hayes at The Parlour Recording Studio, Part 1 consists of two melodically crafted songs that showcase the band’s ability to marry the naked grit of edgy rock with sincere and atmospherically visceral vocals.

'S.O.B.' pulsates with electricity, rising in momentum and building in intensity before giving way to the epic emotion of 'Stupid Again'.

The band will be giving away a free download track prior to each release as a taste of what to expect; 'Bleached edges of my memory' is available now via the Trash Monroe Facebook page.
