An apple a day just got even better! Pink Lady® apples has joined forces with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity to help support its Kiss It Better appeal. So, while you keep your New Year’s resolution of 5-a-day, detox your way to Spring and pop apples in the kid’s lunch boxes, why not also help children with cancer?

There will be a 20p donation from every Pink Lady® ‘polybag’ pack of apples sold in Tesco stores throughout the country to the Kiss it Better appeal to help raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital’s campaign.

The ‘Kiss it Better’ campaign, which enters its fifth year in 2008, will run from St. Valentine’s Day (14th February) to Mothering Sunday (2nd March). The special Pink Lady® Kiss It Better polybags will be available throughout this period and will run until stocks last.

The Kiss it Better campaign, initiated by journalist Carmel Allen, is aiming to raise £250,000 this year to help fund research into childhood cancers. Carmel was inspired to start the campaign when her young daughter was treated for a rare form of cancer, Neuroblastoma, at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Andy Macdonald, from Pink Lady® apples comments “We are delighted to team up with the Kiss It Better campaign. Anyone buying Tesco’s special Kiss It Better polybags can help turn a Pink Lady® apple from simple goodness for themselves into a donation for children with cancer as well.”

No other apple is raised with more love than a Pink Lady® because it grows on the tree for longer than any other apple. This additional nurturing means a Pink Lady® apple develops unique traits: a vivid pink blush; a perfect sweet / tangy balance, and a hint of effervescence.

By picking Pink Lady® apples, you can rest assured that you are getting some of the best apples available. Only the highest quality apples in the orchard make it past the strict criteria to become a Pink Lady®. So look for the flowing heart logo to make sure you’re getting the best apple – which you and your family deserve.

The Pink Lady® Kiss It Better bags and packs of apples are only available in Tesco nationwide. For more information see www.pinkladyapples.co.uk or http://www.gosh.org/kissitbetter
