Duchess of Cornwall

The Duchess of Cornwall visited the Poppy Factory yesterday (24.10.13).

Camilla Parker Bowles - who is patron of the organisation - made an inaugural visit to the charity's base in Richmond, south-west London, where she was introduced to the staff who make between 60-70 handmade poppies a day.

In a video posted on ITN.co.uk, the 66-year-old royal is shown attempting to assemble a poppy herself, and she admits it was "quite fiddly work."

The organisation produces the tributes worn on Remembrance Day every year in addition to crafting wreaths and wooden crosses to honour the brave British soldiers who lost their lives fighting for their country in the First World War.

Camilla was gifted with a cross which will be laid at a memorial by the Prince of Wales during his tour of India which is scheduled for November 6 - 14 where they are hoping to promote UK-India partnerships in a number of areas.

The trip to India will be Charles and Camilla's fourth official visit to the country and the first since the prince opened the Commonwealth Games in new Delhi in 2010.
