Britain's Duchess of Cambridge has taken Cressida Bonas under her wing.

Catherine has reportedly offered her support to Prince Harry's girlfriend while the 29-year-old royal is in Antarctica taking part in a 208-mile trek for Walking With The Wounded charity.

Harry, who is currently stranded in South Africa due to bad weather conditions in the South Pole, left London earlier this week and Cressida is apparently worried about the separation and has turned to Catherine for advice.

A source told LOOK magazine: "Cressida is so happy to have Kate on her side, especially now Harry's almost uncontactable."

Catherine initially found it difficult coping with the constant media attention before her engagement to Prince William in October 2010 after a seven-year romance, so Cressida feels she can talk to the 31-year-old star about any problems she might have.

The 23-year-old blonde is said to have given up her career as a dancer in order to fit in with the royal family, something she is struggling to come to terms with.

The insider added: "Kate has made PR mistakes in the past too. I think she regrets not finding a job to settle down to before getting engaged to William - the 'Waity Katie' tag still haunts her today.

"So Kate can talk to Cressy about that and also point out the attention she'd get if she carried on with the dancing. Every time she put on a leotard to perform, the pictures would be splashed all over the world - and not for the right reasons."
