Prince William and Duchess Catherine's kids are said to have a huge role lined up for his brother Prince Harry and the former 'Suits' star's big day, which will take place at Windsor Castle in May.

A Kensington Palace spokesman told the Sunday Times newspaper: "The wedding will be a family event. You can expect the family to be involved."

Meghan's best friend Jessica Mulroney's kids, seven-year-old twins Brian and John and their four-year-old sister Ivy could also walk up the aisle behind the 36-year-old star.

Harry's godson, Fred Pettifer, who is the son of his childhood nanny, Tiggy Legge-Bourke, could also land such a prestigious role.

While the royal wedding plans are being largely kept under wraps, singer Sam Smith has admitted he would love to perform at the spectacle because he is such a huge fan of the couple.

He said: "I'm obsessed. I want to sing at the wedding. Oh my God I'd love to, it would be a dream.

"I met Harry once, at the James Bond premiere in the Royal Albert Hall, and he also did this amazing speech at the Attitude Awards, and it was really, really beautiful to see that."

Another star who is no doubt hoping to get an invite is comedian Jack Whitehall.

Upon the pair announcing the news, the 29-year-old star, who is a pal of Harry's, jokingly took to Twitter to ask when the stag do would be.

He tweeted: "1. When is the stag do? 2. Can I come? (sic)"
