Britain's Prince Harry is losing his hair.

The second son of Prince Charles - who is currently on a tour of New Zealand - has confessed he is following in his father's footsteps by going bald.

The 30-year-old hunk made the admission when a female fan said, "You look just like your father" to which he replied, "I'm losing my hair like him too".

The prince has become well known for his red hair, and recently gave some wise words of advice to a little boy with similar coloured locks during a royal meet and greet.

After catching Harry's attention by brandishing a sign reading "Keep calm, ginger is the spice of life," the prince told the boy: "Gingers rule. Don't ever let anyone hassle you about it and hang that sign up above your bed."

However, the former military pilot's receding hairline may add to his problem of struggling to find a wife, having recently admitted he is ready to settle down and have children but needs to find the right woman.

He said: "There come times when you think now is the time to settle down, or now is not, whatever way it is but I don't think you can force these things, it will happen when it's going to happen.

"Of course I would love to have kids right now but there's a process that one has to go through and tours like this are great fun, hopefully I'm doing all right by myself, it would be great to have someone else next to me to share the pressure, but you know, time will come and whatever happens, happens."
