Prince Harry on his South Pole trek

Britain's Prince Harry will be urinating in a bottle to warm himself up during his South Pole trek, according to British TV presenter Ben Fogle.

The 40-year-old star expects the flame-haired royal to be trying out all the tricks while on his 208-mile Walking with the Wounded trek and while Ben - who suffered hypothermia and frostbite on a similar expedition earlier this year - admits being jealous of the jaunt, he doesn't miss the freezing cold temperatures.

In a piece for the Daily Telegraph newspaper, he wrote: "Prince Harry and the international teams of injured servicemen will be having a tough time of it. The cold is relentless.

"Arguably the worst part of the day is dragging yourself from the warmth luxury of your sleeping bag back into the freezing tent. It is then a race against the cold, to light the stove and do your ablutions, and getting ready for the day.

"Harry will by now by well versed in the art of peeing into a bottle, in your sleeping bag during the night to avoid getting up (the warm urine makes a nice hot water bottle if you then hug it)."

Despite the problems Harry, 29, will undoubtedly face with the cold weather, boredom and also, bizarrely, overheating, Ben insists there is something magical about being in Antarctica that the prince will cherish forever.

He added: "Hidden among these hardships are the magic moments that have hooked, captivated and enthralled adventurers for years. Antarctica can be beguilingly beautiful.

"Harry and all the other brave souls on their various record breaking journeys now have one thing in common: they will join a special little club of those who have not only felt the bite, but tasted the magic of Antarctica, and for that I wish I was with them."
