The 34-year-old royal is poised to meet veterans of all three armed services at the official opening of the new centre, while he will also meet with volunteers and schoolchildren.

Prince William's visit to the site later today (29.03.17) comes after a nine-year fundraising campaign to improve facilities for visitors to the arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire.

Meanwhile, a report claimed earlier this week that Prince William is set to spend almost £400 on Prince George's school uniform.

The three-year-old Prince is due to start at Thomas's Battersea school, which is located just 20 minutes away from Kensington Palace, in London, in September this year.

And according to Mail Online, the oldest of Prince's William's two children will attend his first day of school wearing a £370 outfit.

Prince George, who will celebrate his fourth birthday in July, will be required to wear a cagoule with the establishment's crest emblazoned on it when he attends the school, which costs £6,000 per term.

And during the first few months of winter, the young Prince will have to wear a navy jacket with a jersey top and a pair of navy Bermuda shorts.

But by the summer time, the British royal - who is the elder brother of 22-month-old Princess Charlotte - will be able to swap his thick jumper for a short-sleeved shirt and a white sun hat.

A spokesperson from Kensington Palace confirmed earlier this month that Prince George was attending the prestigious school in South West London.

In a statement, the Palace said: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will send their son, George, to Thomas's Battersea from September 2017 this year.

"Their Royal Highnesses are delighted to have found a school where they are confident George will have a happy and successful start to his education."
