Sweden's Princess Estelle has attended her first day at nursery school

The two-and-half-year-old royal - who is second in line to the Swedish throne - looked excited yesterday as she was escorted to pre-school in Stockholm for the first time by her mother Crown Princess Victoria, 37 and her father Prince Daniel, 40.

The 'Aeventyret' nursery, meaning 'adventure', was chosen by her mother - who is the heir apparent to the throne - after it was recommended to her by close friends, Hello! Magazine reports.

Princess Victoria added that she was keen for the tot to start at the school in Danderyd, just outside of Stockholm, where the family are based in the Haga Palace, so the young princess can spend time with her pals.

She said: "It will be nice for Estelle to be at school with her friends."

Estelle was born in February 2012 and was given the title Duchess of Ostergotland - an area in the south-east of the country - where she carried out her first official royal engagement at the Linkoping castle in May this year.
