Tinie Tempah credits Prince William and Prince Harry with making Britain's royal family "cool".

The 'Pass Out' hitmaker has been a big supporter of the royals ever since meeting William at Radio 1's Big Weekend in 2010, and believes the down-to-earth younger generation of royals are responsible for reviving the public's interest in the monarchy.

Asked whether he had stayed in touch with the Duke of Cambridge, Tinie said: "Sadly not, but that was a very big deal for me and I've been keeping in touch with everything that's been going on with him, Kate, and Prince Harry. In terms of new role models and putting a cool, young face on the royal family, I think Harry and William are two very good characters.

"They seem to have great balance. And Harry definitely has this thing where he lets the world know that he's a real human being. I rap about Harry on my new single, 'Children of the Sun'."

The 24-year-old star was thrilled when William's wife Duchess Catherine - formerly known as Kate Middleton - gave birth to baby George in July, and says the new royal heir's name gets his seal of approval.

He added in an interview with HELLO! magazine: "William and Kate are doing things the right way too. It makes me proud to be British. I think George is a good royal name. I'm happy they kept it classic."
