Zara Phillips is battling for her place in the 2016 Olympics

The 33-year-old royal is competing in the World Equestrian Games in Normandy this week, in front of an audience including the British team selectors for the Rio de Janeiro games in two years time.

The pretty blonde looked relaxed as she chatted to her team mate and current world number one William Fox-Pitt at the event, despite the fact that only a perfect performance will guarantee her a place in the team alongside him.

According to the MailOnline, Zara - who has a 7-month-old daughter with her husband Mike Tindall - has been competing on courses all over the UK in recent months in order to prepare herself for the event

As well as riding herself, Zara was also spotted watching the action at Royal Ascot last month where she was joined by her husband, Prince Harry and Hollywood actor Tom Cruise.

She also made time to celebrate Prince George's first birthday last month as she was spotted heading to Kensington Palace with Mike and their daughter for the lavish Peter Rabbit-themed celebration on July 22.
