The Charlatans star is donating £5 from the sale of every pair of the Flare Audio earphones to the Music Venue Trust to help those venues hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The in-ears are named after the musician's Twitter album listening parties, which see artists and their fans tweet along while listening to their records in full via the hashtag #TimsTwitterListeningParty.

Records by the biggest names in music, including Liam Gallagher, Blur and Sir Paul McCartney, have been the subject of the online event.

On choosing the #SaveOurVenues campaign to benefit from part of the profits of the earphones, Tim - who helped save Manchester’s The Deaf Institute and Gorilla venues in England - told NME: “It’s an honour to be asked to work with the good people at The Music Venue Trust, it’s going to be a hugely important year for live music and the future of independent venues.

“The listening parties have been quite a phenomenon and we had already been talking to Flare Audio about making some special edition earphones. It would be brilliant that we can put all the things together and help with raising some much needed funds. I’ve been road testing the first set of earphones for a while – they’re amazing.”

Priced at £39.99, the TLP1 earphones are available to pre-order on March 26 via flareaudio.com
